Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Service call Fee?

A service call fee is the basic fee we charge to attend your property. This fee covers our running costs to get to you such as petrol, our time and insurances.

Are you insured?

YES. As a registered Trade company we are fully insured and licensed. Our license details can be found on our quotes and invoices and we have all relevant insurances as a registered company.

Why do you ask customers for photos instead of doing on site quotes?

We repair windows and doors every day and so we are highly skilled at identifying what repairs are required by simply looking at photos that you supply as our customer.

What happens if you come to my home but the quote was not correct?

Before we proceed with any work we will discuss the quote with you and explain what repairs need to happen instead. We have this discussion when there is a variation in the quoted price.

Why don’t you offer a free onsite quote?

We are highly-skilled at quoting through photos supplied. It means we can get the repairs done in a timely manner rather than have lots of back and forth with an onsite quote.

Why do you need parking close to the property?

Each job is individual in nature and therefore we need regular access to our vehicle where we store our tools and hardware. To ensure a speedy repair we must have our vehicle parked close by.

Why don’t you disclose hardware costs?

The same reason a restaurant does not disclose the cost of each individual ingredient. All our costs are a fixed price.

Why do you charge a deposit before you proceed with any work?

The deposit covers basic hardware costs especially where an item is on special order. The deposit also ensures you, our valued customer will proceed with the repair in a timely manner.

Why do you need all animals to be tethered or removed to a different room in our home?

We take the safety of our customers and their pets seriously and therefore we do not want to risk dropping a tool or tripping over a pet which can cause injury to our team and your pet. Further to this, some of our team members have fur allergies so it is just easier to keep pets separate.

Why does all furniture need to be removed from the area you are working?

We need clear space to work, in some instances we need to get right inside your window or door which is impossible when there is furniture in the way. Again, this also ensures a speedy repair.

Why do blinds, curtains and shutters need to be removed before you attend the repair?

We need clear access to all aspects of the window and door that we are repairing. We do not remove them as part of our repair as this takes time and there is risk of damage when we are dealing with items that we are not experienced with.
